SUMMARY:Rosh Hashanah
DESCRIPTION:This year we will be holding our Rosh Hashanah\, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur services at a special holiday location\, If you are not a member please contact us for details\, https://beitchaverimutah.org/contact-us/. We’re pretty excited about it as these will be our first in person services since the Covid shutdown and masks are required. \nRosh Hashanah commemorates the creation of the world and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe\, a 10-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates in the Yom Kippur holiday\, also known as the Day of Atonement.  Rosh Hashanah is not mentioned in the Torah\, though the holiday was likely well established by the sixth century B.C.\, the phrase “Rosh Hashanah” shows up for the first time in the Mishna\, a code of law compiled in 200 A.D.

SUMMARY:Purim at the Lake
DESCRIPTION:For Shushan Purim we will gather at Fire Lake at 2PM. Shushan Purim is the day Queen Esther shared Mishlo’ah manot/gifts to the people of Shushan\, the capital of Persia. Keeping this tradition the gifts are 2 items of food\, usually Hamentashen and fruit and nuts with 2 zuzim(pennies) so even the poor could give tzedakah. Due to covid masks are required\, and any bags of mishlo’ah manot must be sealed. You may choose to wear a festive mask or costume hat attire. A short retelling of the Purim story and a blessing will be recited. As we may be standing for a while consider bringing a folding chair. \nBe Merry\, Purim is Coming
